Some positive (but, at the same time, worrying) environmental news!
On February 4, 2018, the Trump Administration announced that they would withdraw their nomination of Kathleen Hartnett White, the White House's nominee for Trump environmental policy advisor and leader of the Council on Environmental Quality. This announcement comes after the nominee was grilled in her hearing by the Congressional Environmental and Public Works Committee. So, while we rejoice over getting rid of a potential disaster to United States environmental policy, our worry about the future of American environmental leadership only grows. If only American science policy was viewed through a lens of concrete facts, instead of abstract "differences in opinion". . .
